The Support Network
For Families in Early Intervention and Beyond
What is New Path?
New Path, a program under The Arc of Virginia, focuses on offering peer-to-peer support designed to empower, educate, and connect families. This support is crucial during various stages, such as Early Intervention and the transition from Part C to Part B services, continuing until other community services have taken over in providing necessary support to the family and child(ren). This program aims to ensure families have the understanding and resources needed to navigate these critical phases effectively..
New Path is a family support network designed to guide you on the journey to help your child(ren) meet their developmental milestones. We understand that this journey can sometimes become overwhelming, but we are here to help. New Path provides individualized resources and support tailored to your needs, aiming to improve your family’s quality of life.

New Path is here to support families of children (prenatal) 0-3 who may be at risk of a developmental delay
Yes, we all grow at our own pace just as infants and toddlers. Early childhood development often follows predictable patterns known as milestones. These milestones are skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving “bye-bye.” Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move (crawling, walking, etc.)
Some of our young children need a little extra help to reach certain developmental milestones. Because infants and toddlers grow and learn so quickly, it's important to get that extra help as early as possible if you or your child's doctor have any concerns about your child's development.
Why New Path?
Our mission is to help those in need. New Path builds on families' commitment to learn and connect by providing support and resources. We strive to assist families, empowering them to be the best teachers for their children. We invite you to join us as you begin your New Path.
